My boss wants to re-do our internal site's menu bar (the existing one I stole off Mac's website). :o So I have been looking at CSS generated menu bars and flash and stuff, but what is the new hotness? I would like a horizontal menu bar with a drop down when you go over one of the headings. Any easy way to do this? I don't want anything fancy, nice and simple but good looking.

PS - I hate web design shit. :hs:

Suckerfish menus are pretty good, multi-level, cross-browser, and the markup is just nested <ul><li> etc

All you do is have your server-side stuff construct the menus as nested un-numbered lists.

Then you need a little bit of javascript for IE6 and under to handle the :hover styles properly.

Then you just style away with css to make the menus look like you want.
