I've been using my iMac PowerMac 6,3 G4 since April, 2004.

    My harddrive is as follows:

    CPU Speed: 1.25 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
    Memory: 1.25 GB
    Bus Speed: 167 MHz

I do the software upgrades when I get the prompts but I'm still only up to v. 10.4.11. Lately my Mac has started to feel really buggy and laggy, mainly when I'm streaming video. I'll probably have to upgrade at some point but I'm pretty attached to this machine :sadwavey:

Anyone have their Mac longer than me?

I had my original MBP core duo for about 3 years until I sold it recently. That was my longest

Usually til they die.... which in recent years is only 2-3 years for some reason with laptops.

If i hadnt sold it to my friend, the oldest id own would be my old 533 G4, but its still kickin for him.

I just shut down my 400MHz G4 Server (upgraded to 1GHz) after years of service last month. Now it's 6 hard drives sit idle. It's so much quieter in the computer room now without all those fans going.

My Macbook has to last at least all of college and a little after, so probably 5 years. It's 1.8ghz, 2gb ram, 120GB HDD.

It'll get there. My sister's iBook lasted 4 years.. Would have been more if it didn't get dropped.

out of curiosity, specs and how much you got?

I've had my current macbook pro for ~2 years, and had my iBook G3 before that for 4 and a half years, then gave it to my sister. She used it for half a year, and then the logic board broke and I retired it :wtc:

I had an iBook for 8 years and it still ran reliably. I only upgraded to a MBP because I couldn't load the newest OS.
