    Other then repetition and weight training. For example, one thing I have heard is to make sure your back is flexed and rigid at the moment of impact. Also, pushing with your feet and turning your whole torso when throwing a hook.

    form is the most important part.

    weight training might help, but bagwork will add more power than bench pressing etc.

    As for the stuff you stated, there is no key, because everybody's punches have different problems.

    Getting your body weight behind your punches. You do this by using proper form and rotating your hips (on all punches not just hooks).

    Like everybody's saying, hip movement is one of the most crucial aspects of form.

    Always twist at the hips with your punch. Leg movement is important as well. Transferring your weight from the back leg to the front leg adds some follow-through power.

    Best way to learn is by taking classes with an instructor who takes time to give personal feedback and training to you individually.

    You do not want to be rigid at all.

    A loose body = more velocity which = more power.

    also you will punch faster and retract faster.

    yeah the main key is going and learning from someone who can teach you how to punch instead of asking on the internet. the only thing you're gonna do with information from the internet is hurt yourself.

    Don't fucking use ONLY your shoulders. That's pretty much every one's problem that I train to punch. Everyone seems to think that punching = your arm only.

    Punching = entire body.

    Look at that extension!!!

    I know my form isn't perfect cause I'm leaning in but you see how my back shoulder is now the front shoulder yet my stance is still propper....

    Man my back looks actually muscular yet my tummy looks oh so fat.

    I suck at looking good.

    The key is hitting someone you don't like.
