Much like Geek Squad. I'm trying to figure out why my computer uses 950mb of RAM when idling when my task manager says only 57200k of memory is in use for processes. Thanks.

post a screenshot of your task manager, make sure to check the box for "show processes for all users" when you post it.

Lots of stuff running, but I don't see anything that would raise any major red flags for me. How much ram do you have in your system and what OS?

HEY.... memory is supposed to be used... it does nothing if it isn't being used and is being wasted.

You waste memory by NOT using it, available memory does nothing for you...

How long will it take for people to get that through their thick skulls? Vista CACHES (see second post) frequently used programs and data to increase your computers performance by not requiring all this data to be transferred from the very slow hard drive every time you start an application. It is a GOOD thing.

yeah so, none of this has helped me. Could anyone answer my first question

Wow you are dumb... the second post answered your question, so did mine.

You don't have a problem, you don't need help, stop looking at resource manager you don't know enough to accurately interpret what it is telling you.
