    trigger lock? etc

I have a .45 revolver unloaded in my closet. It wont fit in my gun safe so its on a top closer shelf and I want to trigger lock/lock it just in case. My daughter is 21mos so I am not worried about her at this moment, but want to be safe.
Quick Access is not an issue. I just want something that I can get into without a hassel.

what about a keyless gunsafe that you can bolt to the top of the existing safe?

Or a Maglock would be good.

You can mount it right on the wall or anywhere you want. Few of the XD guys use it under a desk or in a car under the dash.

I have a cable lock that I guess I should try, my concern is the nearly 7" barrel on my revolver that I dont know if the cable lock I have will be long enough.
Easy access is not a concern since I have my XD in a quick access safe in my nighstand

the cable doesnt have to be run through the barrel.

just open the cylinder, and stick the cable through the frame so you wont be able to close the cylinder as the cable will be in the way.

get a gun lock from your local police station.. put it through the opening of the revolver when you open it up there shouldnt be any possible way to close it

I ran the cable lock system that came with my XD through two Cylinder tubes and it locked and put the keys in the other safe.. Worked like a charm, no way to close the cylinder. And it also fit back in my gun rug and was put in my bag on a 7' shelf, I feel confident that its child safe now.

    THanks.

I would like to get a larger one if I get another gun or two, but right now I really like the safe in the nightstand.. 4 digit code and it pops open.

Does that safe have some sort of backup in case the battery dies?

double batteries - 2 -9 volts one inside and one accessable right on the outside by the keypad. One goes dead (it beeps when battery is low) you can use the other battery to open the safe.
