Starting up a business here at school with some friends for a long term project and we need a good domain company. Preferably the site would need the shopping cart option for us to sell the goods. Anyone with e-commerce experience or just general suggestions would be great.

    thanks.

The domain will be cheap, the shopping car won't be as inexpensive. Depending on your requirements, it may end up costing a little bit to use somebody's else's.

NameCheap - excellent interface esp when managing multiple domains, not as bloated as godaddy.

Thanks for the replies so far, but one more stupid question. Is webhosting necessary for a site? I assume it is, but hell i dunno, im new to the whole web registration thing. I found lunarpages.com which offers free domain registration for life and hosting for 7.95 a month. Just to reassure me, web hosting is necessary for any website, correct?

    thanks again.

domainsatcost.com is cheap for .com's. godaddy is better for .ca's and such.
