handbrake / mediafork
the newer intel macs handle rip times faster then the G5 ones
no gym for home?
how long should it take?? this seems to take forever.....
i am using Handbrake
I think my G5 iMac takes about 4 hours to rip/encode a movie from DVD.
My Macbook Pro does the same job in under an hour.
my g4 ibook does it in about an hour and a half
my macbook will rip from the dvd in about 40-60 minutes.
it depends on if the dvd is dual layer or single layer and if twopass is enabled
ya it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to do it..
soo what size should a ripped dvd be?
i usually like to set it at an average bitrate 1800 or so. i usually end up with files at 1.4gb
although i can still notice some pixelation on my 40" samsung, but it's no big deal. this is for xvids.
i have not tried h264 yet because it takes a lot long to encode
