That game has gotten a lot of love on GP so I decided to pick it up a while ago. Story is pretty good, art is awesome, but the gameplay (to me) is meh. I've never been one for strategy type RPGs, couldn't stand Tactics. Am I a lost cause? Played a couple hrs and just can't get into. I guess it just moves too slow for me. :dunno:

Shine some light on this game. Maybe if I get a couple of different perspectives I may start playing it again. It seems like it's a game that I can ejoy, I just can't get past the strategy aspect of it.

Do you like chess? Any sort of tactical gaming outside of videogames? I feel like the people who got into VC are the same people who enjoy strat table games like risk, stratego, chess, etc. If you don't like the gameplay there's little you can do to save the experience.

:werd: It can get frustrating sometimes but its rewarding when you finally figure out how to beat it. Just like any other game.

:dunno: You dislike strat games but want to like this, not a really easy thing to do. Even people casual about strat games have good things to say about FF Tactics so you're pretty far on the other side of the spectrum.

Try going through the missions with less people, the bare amount you would think you need to get through, and don't use the tank so much. The game becomes a little more fast paced and hectic.

Try to replay through one of the skirmishes a few times. Once you better your knowledge of the mechanics of the game, no doubt you'll enjoy it.

my internet went down at 12:45am last night. waitied for 2 hours and 15 mins after that and called it quits. Was really fucking angry

I truthfully am starting to hate marathons. your power flickers for .1 second everything gets shut off.

Your internet company decides to be an asshole for a night your fucked.

your internet connection skips for 1 second you waste 10 mins fixing it.

    shit fucking sucks.

On the very last mission for VC btw, two more shells in to the final boss and he's done. Will finish later tonight.

kind of :hs: that it's almost over, but I still have the DLC to go through.

Yeah, what a waste that it's coming out on the PSP though. Sounds like it's going to be more of a side story than anything.

Halfway through it actually. It's ok, kind of wish they went into the other characters more. Focuses just on the trio which is too bad since the side characters have so much personality.

guy from a&m said something that sticks with me, show is best used for alicia reaction images.

edit: I went to google one and eveidently someone compiled a RAR of them all. 72 images :bowrofl:

pretty sure you'll enjoy it. it's kind of a throwback game personality wise, something I'd expect to see during the 32 bit era.

Beat it earlier and am trying to go through on EX Hard skirmish mode. Fuuuuuuuuu. 1st map: you've only got 4 guys behind light cover, 3 mortars incoming, 10 enemies, a tank, and two gatling emplacements at your back within firing distance (so you can't move anywhere, just have to immediately shoot and cancel afterwards), and a sniper overlooking the whole thing at the far end of the map. After you end your first turn 3 more tanks roll over the hill at your front and mortar the shit out of you.

Haven't been able to survive turn one yet.
