Hey guys. I recently upgraded my computer, and am now running windows XP. I dont know if that'll make any difference, but when looking at my internet connection status it seems to download even when no programs are running.

Only lately i've noticed a big increase in lag when i'm gaming/surfing (am only on dial up (pity me;))) and was wondering if windows was downloading stuff in the background that i'm not aware of?

Or this is constant downloading normal?

    I'm talking 1-3 kbps.

some viruses constantly use your connection, I would scan for viruses.

As it happens, it was a virus :O

The latest worm... w32.welchir or what it was called.

I used the symantec worm remover tool that I found online and now everything is good.

Just a note- If you guys are having issues with DLLHOST.EXE then you probably have the same thing that I had.
