Did some searching on here and google and didn't find too much. Everything is about healthy weight loss rates.

I'm 6'2" and about 170lb. Most of my weight is on my legs from running. I haven't measured my body fat but I'm skinny as shit. Anyways, I'd like to go up to 200-205. My thumb and middle finger overlap around my wrist. I don't do much, I have an office job. Been doing some research on lifting and nutrition and it seems like 3500-3700 calories a day should suit me well?

My real question is, what is a reasonable amount of weight gain to expect per week?

I've read for 'real' bulks that 2lbs/week is where you want to limit yourself to.
I've also read that you can only do 0.25-0.5lbs of actual muscle in a week (naturally), with the higher end of the range being with a perfect environment.

Thinking like that is what makes people scared of gaining weight; and that will not hold true at all for beginners.

35 lbs to my upper body would do wonders I think. is there any sort of site where you can view people of different heights and weights? I'm having a hard time determining what that would look like on me. I mean for example: http://www.ufc.com/DanCramer this guy has the same stats but my upper body looks nothing like his.

I don't think you need to worry about that for now, do a good clean bulk and see for yourself.

truth. I wasn't trying to discourage you at all bro just sharing my own experience :o

Focus on hitting the 200lb goal for now, worry about getting bigger when you're a lean 200lbs if that's what you decide you want.

No, it's cold on Colorado so he wears pants.

To the TS: Instead of going by the scale I'd suggest finding a knowladgable person who can test your BF every month and take pictures weekly to compare. If you start gaining a lot of fat adjust your diet.

I'm just thinking out loud right now. Trying to get a plan together and diet together. Probably start in a couple weeks.

So 1 lb a week for a beginner is reasonable? How much of that is usually muscle?

And for the record, Pur's routine won't make you huge in a day, no routine will.
Don't think that you'll "get too big" or anything.

It takes patience and dedication, but the rewards are great.

FYI MMA fighters can be 15-20 pounds heavier than their posted weight. The majority of them cut water weight before a fight.

Also, they inflate heights. So that guy is most likely 6 foot 190.

A lot of these guys walk around WAY heavier. Also, dropping water weight and fat makes you "look" much much bigger naked than you are when clothed.

Based only on casual observation, you can get away with 15%, maybe even 20% BF and still look very muscular with a shirt on. Naked, you look biggest with sub-10% bodyfat. So there's this double-dichotomy at play here.

Can't remember where I found this but I thought this was interesting... albeit considered controversial by some
