GUN What is a good .308 to get

    ok I'm going to have about $600 and I want to get a good .308 what do you guys think is a good choice????? I already have a Rem model 710 7mm mag but I want another rilfe for some good distance/ hunting purposes what do you guys think is a good gun .308? .270? .223?

    10FPLE2B = w/ McMillan stock.. but that'll run closer to $800 :o

    so you can get either the standard savage stock, the Choate, or the new HS Precision

    sure looks that way

    the 10swith the HS Precision stocks are on gunbroker for like $650.

    AK will outshoot an AR out to 1000yds from other discussions I have seen in WMD :noes:

    it went on for a while people saying AKs can outshoot ARs and vice versa :mamoru:

    A Savage 110 in .300 Win Mag for a good hunting gun. You can always get a better stock and trigger and still be under the cost of a Browning or Remington. If you want a "sniper" I'd get a Savage 110 FP in .300 Win Mag or WSM. Savage stocks and triggers are a little crude, but a Choate stock and Sharpshooter trigger will do wonders and still not add much money.
