Looking for a good brand
PNY is what I use. Burn at 16x and works. Got some I burned a long time ago that still work fine.
CNET has a pretty good review on CD-R media
whatever is cheapest..... jeeez
i like the imation's...
Just to clarify, are you aslking about CD-R *media* or a CD-R *drive*? If it's media, I would say it doesn't make a great deal of difference, as long as it's not the el-cheapo stuff. If you're talking about *drives*, then I'd say Plextor all the way baby!
as long as it is made in japan, you are all good. The tayo yuden cdr factory is the only one in japan, and they make the best cdrs. Fugifilm uses these, and i think the memorex music cdrs use them. Some website or some place did a test on cdrs, and found the tayo yuden cdrs withstood the elements the best, all the others lasted about half as long.....
i would give a link, but don't have it. someone do a search.....
I use TDK --- no problems yet -- they even play in players that aren't supposed to play them
I either buy the cheapest ones I can find or I watch the newspaper ads for the big rebates on CD-R's. I got a 50 pack along with a CD Case for free one weekend from Circuit City.
I used "Zenith" before, was decent, skipped sometimes in the car but not often....
Just got a 50 pack of TDKs from Circuit City... comes up to like 15$ with the rebate but as long as they do the job.... same shit different smell...
yep the acually 'brand' shouldnt matter, just get it if it says made in japan.
fuji = taiyo yuden = the best
Check out this site
I use the black memorex's for important shit and not a single coaster, for everyday use i use the verbatims with the blue bottoms, they are pretty good.
I just buy whatever wal-mart has.
Memorex and Sony
