That one comic was the highlight of my week, and it wasn't even on my pull list so now I gotta make a trip in to buy a copy. I enjoyed it all the way through, but for me the ending kept it in character (or at least brought it back close enough for a one-shot). Back in black was the best thing they had done with spidey in years, and I'd just started to get over how bad Brand New Day screwed that right up. I've always been a Marvel fanboy, and Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Punisher were my favorites even within that universe. Even though my tastes have expanded, those three are still the core of my collection. The civil war storyline, plus new avengers brought a welcome and ballsy growth to Spidey that was long overdue in my opinion. I hated that deus ex cop-out that followed. Just to make it worse the writing at the beginning of BND was so bad it almost made me think Loeb ate lunch with the writers, or they could smell him down the hall or something. I guess what I'm going for is, when is that goddamn deal with Mephisto BS storyline gonna end, and let Pete go back to being an adult instead of being the smartest kid to ever drive the short bus?
