What have you given up..

    that was hard for you, in the name of fitness?

    Jesus, where to start.

    Processed meats (R.I.P Hot dogs)
    Smoking
    Coke (the delicious soda, not nose candy)
    Fast food
    Eating in my truck (driving to and from work)
    Huge platefuls of pasta, drowned in Alfredo
    Fried foods
    3 pitchers of beer pretty much every time I went to the bar
    Neighborhood Madden tournaments till 2am in the morning (my neighbor has a 72" plasma in 1080i, we had football tournaments that drew 20+ people with a $10 buy in. Getting blasted drunk + super bowl sunday'esk snack food + comfy couches ftl.)


    Things I don't miss -

    Being out of breath from running up my stairs out of the basement
    16% body fat
    29" waist when I got out of the Marines, slowly up to a 34" last year
    Being worthlessly weak from no resistance training
    Looking at pictures of myself in Afghanistan, lean as an ironman athelete, then looking down at my slowly expanding gut



    (btw, before I started working out again I was 5'11, 205 - down to 197 now and counting. So I wasn't some huge hog, just bigger than I wanted to be and pathetically out of shape.)

    The only things I miss are home cooked meals, especially lasagna, pizza and pasta.

    i didn't really give anything up. i never drank soda anyways ..i still eat shitty food (frozen pizza, mcdonalds double cheeseburgers) once in awhile though :rofl:

    Soda was hard to give up.. until Coke came out with Zero.. :bowdown: (i dont consider calorie free soft drinks to be soda.. since the connotation of soda is that its filled with sugar and useless calories)

    I still get suckered in for fast food/restaurant once a week. Caffeine is down to once a week, but I went cold turkey caffeine from Jan to June 2006 last year. I drink less than twice a month, and never more than 5 or 6 beers

    Chocolate!! Oh my my... I got a major sweet tooth and miss chooclate everyday.
    My cheat days consist of eathing a king size chocoloate bar of some sort. :)

    seems like it'd be easy to do.. rootbeer is such a strong flavor that taking away some of the sugar would seem trivial.. if done correctly

    Bad food in large quantities.

    I still have "bad food" occasionally, but not nearly as frequently and not in such large amounts.



    I clearly lack strongmindedness.

    Basically any meal which contains vast quantities of fats and carbs together.

    i.e pizza, pasta, ice cream

    I actually enjoy my diet at the moment though. Thats why I like clean bulking, you can eat vast quantites of food and not get fat (assuming that you work out, and you arnt overshooting your target calorie ammount).

    I love summer when veggies are cheap at the farmer's market and I make some hugeass salads with a bit of dark sesame oil over it and tuna or cut up chicken breast, with a cold Honey Crisp apple for dessert :bowdown:
