What life lessons have you learned from your F&N activities?

I've learned that the only way to make progress in something is to really stress yourself. Whether it's getting bigger/stronger, doing better at your job, having better relationships, trying to improve a skill, anything... at some point you're not going to get any better unless you stress yourself with a couple of forced reps (metaphorically speaking). You gotta step out of your comfort zone to move forward.

Also, most of life's problems can be solved by increasing your pop-tart intake.

You won't ever get anything you want unless you do something you don't want to do.

That weeks of hard work and commitment can be screwed up in less than 24 hours.

Also that commitment is one of the hardest things to be FAITHFUL about...and they go hand in hand.

That the body you were born with is but a starting point - anyone and everyone has the ability to change it into what they want.

Also, coughing blood indicates a good heavy deadlift.

The key to sucess is hard work over a long period of time results never come quick.

Also, people will always ask you advice or a question, and when you give them an answer they always rebuttle that they heard something different from "some really big dude I know" :coolugh:

Oh, and every time a guy wants to talk to you about fitness, he always asks how much you can bench press.

I feel like I've learned nearly the opposite - that genetics plays a huge role in dictating what you look like and at some point you gotta be happy with who you are :hs:

weight = credibility, which can be ridiculous. Sometimes those that cannot do, teach.

That genetics can beat perfect knowledge/form/program design, but also that EVERYONE can improve what they have.

WELL THEN YOU ARE WRONG SIR

Actually, I agree - I think this is just both sides of a half-full/half-empty type debate.

Certain things you cannot change due to genetics, but I think there's a lot more to be changed than most people think. If you can do that and become comfortable with yourself and what you *cannot* change, then you win the GAME OF LIFE.

    Or something like that.

The gym thaught me how to get past mental barriers. When I used to swim I chocked very often, now I learned how to break thrugh that and harness it.

I think if I swam competatively right (with my current mental/physical state) I would fuck the competition up...too bad that and lifting don't really go hand and hand.
