what happens if you plug in a usb 2.0 device in a reg usb port?

    what happens if you plug in a usb 2.0 device in a reg usb port?


    purdy simple, eh? i suspect it will work, just slower, but i'm not sure.

    it'll just run at usb 1.1 speeds

    as long as it's compatible.

    mind you most usb2 devices are backwards compatible to usb1.1, but a usb2-only device wouldn't work in anything less than a usb2 port.

    Well, like mentioned above, it should work normally...just slower, but I was using an external IDE to USB2 enclosure at work and it would make my PIII 733 spontaneously reboot. It definitely made me just a bit :rant: .
