A&P What happened to the Nikon 70-200 2.8 being around $1700?

    BH Photo has it for $2300 now! Is there anywhere I can still pick on up (new) for around $1700?

    I dont htink you can get a new VR I anymore... only the VR II

    As far as I know the old VR got discontinued. You can get the old one used from 1200-1800 off ebay/CL

    Declining value of the dollar has driven up prices of most goods from Japan. Combine that with the price hike on the updated version and you get more expensive lenses.

    I just picked up a used mint 70-200 vr1 for 1350. try looking on FM for a good used deal.
