No gym for home (apartment), no gym for school (graduated), trying to find a gym that actually has a squat rack and I can't even find anywhere with a flat bench or DB's above 50 lbs.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but why buy an expensive Smith machine when you can get a squat rack + bar for 1/4 the price? Anyone have any gym recommendations for Kansas City downtown area?

why can't you setup in your apt? just buy a sumo rack and a bb/plate set. takes up like 8 square feet.

Racks and free weights don't get soccer moms to sign up for a 3 year contract that they'll come to the gym for the first 3 weeks of.

Up north there is Steele Gym, There is a Golds off Shawnee Mission Parkway and I-35 and a 24hr off of like 85th and Wornall. I know none of those are downtown but I don't know of to many gyms like your looking for in that area.

There is also a Golds in westport, they should have all of that equpment as well. It's like off of Westport Rd right next to Americas Pub.

at my college once you graduate you can still use the gym, you just have to pay a membership fee. might be worth looking into.

I feel you, man. I came from a gym that didn't allow deadlifting, once. That was a short lived membership.

Went to school in NJ, so negative on that. I'll have to look into the Gold's in Westport; anyone have any opinions on Gold's in general?

I'm sure my landlord would love me pulling mad weight on his hardwood floors, not to mention I'm on the 12th floor.

Everybody wanna be a bodybuilder, but don't nobody wanna lift no heavy ass weights :hs:

I told you I would sponsor you to be a member at KU med gym

freeweights up to 120 I think. multiple squat racks. usually not too busy and people who are there are med students so they arent there to fuck around

plus emma can use the pool to swim :dunno:
