A&P What gives a great photo that pizzaz, or great look to it?

Discussion in 'Lifestyle' started by coughlin's law, Sep 28, 2009.

  1. So many photos I've seen usually have something to them that make them look really good... but I've been wondering what it might be? Is it the lens? The filter? The camera settings? Or a lot of post processing?

    camera settings.

  6. Even if your camera is at f/2.8, iso 100, 1/80th... can a photo still turn out like crap?

    It's mostly the subject.

Sunsets are a dime a dozen, but the really awesome ones don't come around so often.

Take a picture of one of those and do minimal post processing and you have yourself a winner.

This is true for most subjects.

just set the clarity slider to 100 and the vibrance slider to 50 and your subject can be a grey card but it will show up as a puppy.

Stay on topic or we'll lock this thread.

    /warning

    ;)

No one thing contributes to the photo. The subject, lighting, background, composition, use of colors (or lack thereof) all contribute to it. There is no one way to get a great shot.
