    I recently bought a new small mono amp for my cars sub

    car = 2000 saab 9-3 hatch
    sub = boston 10.5 pro in sealed .75 box (boston box)
    amp = alpine mrd301

    what frequency is normal for someone to leave the lowpass filter on? it's adjustable from 25hz to 200hz

    I wouldnt go much higher than 100hz. Other than that, unless you have sophisticated measuring equipment, IMO it would be best to just set the crossover frequency to whatever sounds best to you, and blends well with your front speakers.

    Do you by any chance know what order (how many decibels per octave) the lowpass filter is?

    i've found 80hz to be pretty optimal...some find that it filters out TOO much in a sealed box.
