What file formats can the DVD burner burn?

I have a bunch of Top Gear & Fifth Gear episodes as well as some other short films. They are all in their various formats, Quicktime, DIVX etc and I'm curious if the Mac can burn those right to DVD (for TV viewing) w/out converting them. Or will it do it automatically? Or is there a program I can use?

good question. I'd like to know this as well. You may be able to use iDVD to put those together and burn it that way, but :dunno:

Either the files have to be converted to MPEG-2 (DVD video) in order for your DVD player to be able to play them, or your DVD player has to be able to play DIVX.

I believe Roxio Toast allows you to convert and burn a DVD in one step. I'm not sure what video formats it accepts though.
