What e-mail client do you use.

Discussion in 'OT Technology' started by Super ~o Sperm, Aug 20, 2003.

  1. I have outlook express but its probably isnt the best out there. I tried the regular out look and hated it more than express.

Anyone reccomend any e-mail client? Also if it has reminders like OL that would be great. If not I guess I can use post-its.

I've always used Outlook or OWA.. but there are a ton out there. Just search google and start trying a bunch of them until you find the one that you like best.

You could also check out Lotus's client, which should be fairly comparable to Outlook.

At home, I use Hotmail, so no client needed. At the office, we use Novell Groupwise. Good stuff.

outlook express at office, yahoo mail at home.

while we're on the subject, does anyone know how to export mail from netscape 7.0? i have never used netscape mail, but there's someone at the office who needs to change computers and wants to keep all their mail. i can't for the life of me figure out how to transfer it (just copying the mail files didn't work..)

p.s. i figured out how to copy netscape 4.7x mail to outlook express, but the same thing isn't working for 7.0 mail :(

For the 2 or 3 emails I get a day on a real mail server, Outlook express 6 works fine for me.

I've used Outlook 97 & 2000. Loads of features and such so its useful. But I got tired of being stressed out on all the email viruses so I'm using Mozilla's email client. The early version had issues, but its coming along really nicely.

As for moving email - I think I might have done it once with M19. It required a lot of fiddling. It was at least a year ago when I did it and I've forgotten exactly what I did besides just copying files (I think I remember tweaking the registry and doing some Mozilla profile tricks).

Well, technically I didn't pay for it. My dad payed for it at the office and at home before I started using it, and now since he's not at the office anymore I use his office license and he uses his home license ;)

This is the only thing that I want to send to the system tray that doesn't have native support for it.

    Thanks for the tip.

Take a look at http://www.slovaktech.com/attachmentoptions.htm also -- It kills three birds with one stone by allowing you to choose which attachments to not block, to minimize to the tray, and to force incoming mail to be plain text. It integrates very nicely into the Outlook options menu.
