Those Pathfinders are supposed to be pretty bulletproof. The Isuzus, I've heard mixed things about. Well maintained, they should last quite awhile.

I had a pathfinder like that one, and it was bulletproof off road, plus it had frigid AC.

lol....obviously you do not live in the 480, 602, or 623!

the high today is 76. which means, if your can has been sitting out in the sun all day like mine does, the AC is needed

My high today was about the same....plus 10 times more humidity. I rarely run the AC.

Welcome to florida. Home of Heat, Humidity, Bugs, and Rain. I love it!

lol...this is the time for us hot places to brag about our weather. Just wait until about May when we start complaining about burning ourselves on our seatbelts and steering wheels.

We put in our time of bad weather so that we can enjoy the months of november to april!

What made you pick the Nissan or the Isuzu? Thats a ton of money for an 80's or 90's Isuzu or Nissan. I would think under $1,000 is fair for those vehicles simply because they are over a decade old and not all that popular.

Would you consider a Jeep? Transmission shopping is what you should do with Jeeps. In a Grand the 93-95 V8's had a good tranny and then the 99-04 V8's had a good transmission. All the six cylinders except really early ones had reduced reliability. In the normal cherokee they had good engines and transmissions throughout except some engines made 99 and newer had a bad head. I personally go for a Jeep with that information as some help, of course anything could p would rove unreliable. A big thing that you would like is that they are solid axle front and rear.

    None the less good luck!

    6 cylinders had reduced reliability?

the 242 power tec is hailed as one of the few great engines that DC put out ...

    4.0 6 cyl > *

the 318 and 360 magnum V8s that you seem to think are the cats piss are actually ... well, cat piss. they eat plenum gaskets like a starved ethiopian and are knows for bad valve seals and guides, and the sensors tend to shit about every 30k ...good luck finiding one that doesnt need a new transmission / rebuild after 160k.

and the autos found behind some of the 6cylinders are shit ... TF999 are horse shit and wont stand up to offroad abuse without a rebuild every 30k. the 5 speed ax15 is a good tranny though ... the 4 cylinders are bulletproof, but have no ass ... and the standards behind them are shit (ax5)

i love jeeps more than anyone ... but shit man, they arent that great.

Oh I didn't insert a modifier in my sentence which ruined what I wrote all together. I meant the GRAND six cylinder transmissions had reduced reliability except the early ones which had AW4 transmissions. Rereading my post shows me that I should proofread before clicking reply. Oh and the cracked 4.0 head's are found in 99-00 as far as I know.

Anyway, back on topic. Seems like both are regarded as tough offroad toys. Best of luck to you.
