    Walther G22.

Thinking about getting one for general plinking/squirrel hunting. Plus it looks so badass. Thoughts?

I plan on getting on for squirell hunting and plinking. I think it looks like a fun little squirell gun. Go for it! :bigthumb:

guy had it at the range when I was there, he was acting all hardcore with it, put a laser and stuff on it but was punching paper at 15 yards with it. Was like ting ting ting ting.

The only real bullpup .22 out there.

Shoots pretty good, but it's no ruger or marlin.

A pain in the ass to strip and clean though. tiny springs tend to get lost if you're not paying attention.

I saw Ruger 10/22 or Marlin 60 just to play with.

I like weird guns like that, but it looks like it's on the expensive side for .22lrs

i think you can get a bullpup stock for a 10/22

yeah but they are all cheap and would make for a worse rifle than the g22 anyways. If you want a bullpup at a reasonable price at least the g22 is your only option that i know of.

I purchased one for cheap, but it's not worth it in my opinion. It's a pain in the ass to clean and take down, but shoots nice, plus you do get a bullpup design and something different from the common 10/22. The bullpup design makes the trigger spongy, not a clean pull at all. That being said, if I could go back, I would have gotten a 10/22 or a .22lr conversion for an AR.

what's the advantage to the bullpup format? longer barrel in less space?

Supposedly it's about having a longer barrel while maintaining a shorter overall length. Down side is, it's weird feeling have the mag well behind the grip, and brass flying out right by your face. Again, the nature of bullpups makes the trigger feel like garbage, since the actual trigger is connected via a long bar to the action. At least this is how it is for the G22.

AR22 > that. It is a bitch to clean and is very picky on ammo.
