I don't think those lenses are much better than the kit lens. You're probably better off to pick the body up alone and sink the rest into better glass. Just because it comes with a lot of stuff doesn't mean it's quality stuff.

Ya, I had some extra time and I was putting a kit together myself. I found that I can put something very similar to that together for about 200 bucks cheaper.

Canons are fine. The sackriders are the problem.

You can take pretty pictures with a Digital Rebel and the kit lens, but the camera is not what I would call "great".

The price might be high, but the lenses arent bad. I have two very similar Sigma lenses that I use all the time.....and they take great pics for what I want to do. It really depends on what the original poster is looking to get out of his camera.

Some of you in here seem to have more of a status quo on how much you spend on lenses. :greddy: Not everyone in here can afford a $1000 lense that they might use 10 times. :ugh:

I have a shitty fucking Quantaray 70-300 that I have used honestly, 2 or 3 times. Everything I've ever shot with it just comes out dull and not sharp. You get what you pay for. . .

DO NOT BUY FROM 47ST PHOTO

Their kits are INSANLY overpriced. Most of the accessories are JUNK. I'm willing to bet you can put the SAME kit together for cheaper.

Notice that a LOT of the accessories are GENERIC.

Believe me you do NOT want a kit from them.

If they can't afford the hobby with a DSLR, they should stick to P&S.

dslr+kit lens is better than all point and shoots imo...the faster focus, the aperature range, the viewfinder and the option to upgrade later
