Found this offer that comes with this 2 lenses for $259... they could be my first lenses since I'm about to buy a D70 body...

    • 18mm - 50mm f/3.5-5.6 Super-Wide Angle
    • 55mm - 200mm f/4.0-5.6 Telephoto AF Zoom

or should I stick with the Nikon kit lens? :dunno: I know Nikon makes great lenses... I have no clue about Sigma's quality, speed, etc... and I know these are not the EX versions of the lenses, so they're not that good... but are they a good enough for a starter?

Is there a better starter lens than the Nikon 18-70mm?

i'd pass on that. Get the kit lens then invest in a 70-300 or 70-200.
