    he's asking 3k

I'm the guy in the jacket.
    My first bike.

The bike looks good from far, but far from good.

Kind of high milage, alomst 9 years old, headlights not working, beat up and in need of new plastics and paint, and probably abused, judging by the mods and the fact it's been dropped. Also, it looks like it's kind of tall for you in that one pic, you're on you tippy-toe to touch the ground. Price seems too high for the shape it's in, and bike looks too big for you, pyhsically. But if you feel it fits you good, a 600 would probably make a good first bike, but I'd keep looking for something in better shape. I see newer ones with lower miles for less than that, but with bidding still going. Still, there's a 0 mile 2005 on there for $7500. Keep looking, there are better bikes out there.

No problem. Just seemed like a kind of high price for a bike with problems, especially after looking for similar bikes for sale, and a newer one with less milage in better shape can be had for around $4k. Good luck on the hunting!

and for your first bike, i wouldnt get something like that that comes with so much baggage. not only is there a shitload of miles on it, a 600R is a big engine to learn on. you will more than likely drop it, everyone does while learning.

too expensive for what it is.
Wiring or electrical problems get expensive if you can't fix it yourself.

Get something else to learn on. This is NOT a good first bike.

Why do you already have a motorcycle jacket if this is your first bike?

Just an FYI, but there was no 636 in 2000.
It would have been the plain jane ZX6R

Yea I am a first time rider. I bought the jacket as a precaution before the bike.

I know if i bought a bike before any gear, I'd have an overwhelming urge to ride it, gear or no gear. So better safe than sorry. I bought all my gear before the bike.

I'm about 5'6" I have a long torso and short legs. Yes the bike is way too tall for me. If it was perhaps 2 inches lower it would be fine.

Thanks for the comments. You guys are all right. It is very beat up for the price. I wanted a bike the was a lil beat up but not this much. I haven't even told yhou about other lil things wrong with it. I'm going to pass.

    THANKS!

well if it makes you feel better most sports bikes can be lowered about 3 in.

i have a 99 zx6e, im 5'9" and i could flat foot it with room to spares, you might wanna look into one of those if youre vertically challenge (no offense), its also more of a "sport touring" bike...with an more upright position, so that would probably be better as a starter bike as well (its actually IS my first bike and so far so good)...its a little heavy though, somewhere between 450-490lbs with a full tank of gas, i cant really remember right now, compare to say the new zx6r thats only 350lbs...

for more info, you can visit the zx6e forum at www.zx6e.com
