Shut the hell up with the Nautilus principles already, unless they've somehow discovered a way to defy the laws of physics.

And Hydroxycut without the ephedra is pretty useless, just give it some time.

I'm going to guess it's because they have a huge surplus of fat that their body would love to get rid of.
Less fat = less daily calories to burn keeping it warm and happy.

Seeing as I am in the returning/obese catagory.... 5'10 235 34% BF YECK....

How long does the "one or the other" not apply? I am currently following the guidelines under the newb's guide to fat loss and it has obviously been working. Down from 243 37% 4 Weeks ago.

Note: Using one of those Tanita Scales for BF% which I have heard isn't the best, but it is giving me an idea where I am at least.

Goals 190 and 15%. I will re-evalute from there. :hsd:

That's cause you're a noob :wiggle: You're doing fine. Anybody who's been training/eating right for a while is going to have to pick one goal at the expense of the other.

Would someone regaining previous muscle mass also be excluded?

I'm with the note2 crew. Relatively content and very, very patient.

Also another exception apparently are Hollywood movie stars. Though some were noobs.
Orlando Bloom also put on '20lbs of pure muscle' as opposed to unpure muscle for Kingdom of Heaven.

If you're going to take diet supps like this then just get ephedrine. That will help you burn fat like crystal meth.

I would like to know how many celeb trainers give their clients who need to bulk up in a hurry "enhancers" to speed the process up and/or minimize fat gain...

i know some of those celebs do cycles. no one would say anything because they dont get huge, but they sure do gain alot of muscle and lean out in a really short amount of time.

I'm willing to bet ALL of them... they get paid a SHITLOAD of MONEY to do that, and many of the body transformations those guys do defy the laws of nature. (Even considering they have noresponsibilites but to work out, and have people to bust their ass in the gym and make sure they are eating all the right foods.)

ok, you're a bit off track with your logic

Say you are 170lbs and your maintenance calories are 2700. This means that in order to stay EXACTLY the same, you have to take in 2700 cal/day just to keep from gaining or losing anything. In order to build muscle, your body needs something to build with - protein - and some energy to do the building - calories. This means need more than 2700 calories. Once you have actually built the muscle, your body needs SLIGHTLY more calories to maintain it. The actual amount is only about 6-10 cal/lb. Now, if you have built more muscle but are still eating 2700 calories, only then can you lose fat. However, since you are eating below maintenance now, you can't very well build more muscle.

    Make sense?
