I remember reading on John Berardi's website that if you feel sleepy after eating it means you are insulin sensitive or something like that. I can't remember it exactly and can't find the article.

it's fine, just your body slowing down other functions to digest the food

    basically its the body saying

    TO MUCH CARBS!!!
    which generally translates to

My personal term for this is "food-coma".

It is generally associated with eating too much food and your blood sugar spiking too high due to a large portion of high glycemic carbs and no activity done to burn them off.

When I eat out with big portions and carb dense food I could easily take 4 hour nap if I wanted to.

When I cut, and keep carbs low, focus on low-glycemic carbs, and keep portions in control I never get sleepy after meals.... In fact, they tend to energize me.
