MIL What does it mean when an officer...

    (an Army Captain)...takes a second company command?

    Career wise, is that a good or bad thing? This is the situation with my friend's company.

    I would say it is a good thing, but I'm sure there are other variables in the situation (Like where the CPT would have gone, who was replacing, what the unit was doing, etc)....so who knows. The reason I would say it is a good thing though, is that alot Sr. Officers I have talked with say that some of their best years in the Army were commanding at the company level.

    I suppose there are some downsides as well, like if you got passed up for a larger command...
