good god those are expensive. Kimber would be my recommendation. Although I sure wouldn't turn down a wilson. If it's just a stock 10/22 it's a great deal but if you've played around with it it might not be worth it. By played around I mean upgrade and whatnot.

it's definitely not stock. probably worth around $600. i don't know anyone in their right mind that would trade any handgun for a stock 10/22

OK a serious answer for you. Compact 1911's from all manufacturers are more liley ot have problems, but may or may not. I had an ultra compact as my first 1911, it ran flawlessly. Now keep in mind this was my first 1911, and first .45. Never jammed for any reason at all. the one thing I did notice though is size wise they aren't the traditional compact length, so finding some parts were harder. I sold it for a loaded parkerized, just sold that for a Springfield operator.

    1. wait til your old enough to get a CCW
    2. consider possible choices for CCW, then buy ( when your old enough )
    3. ?????????

Absolutely. The chopped down 1911's are the worst of the bunch.

I have a Kimber Ultra Carry II and I absolutely love it. It functions well but I understand that they are a little more finnicky about being clean and certain rounds won't load well, etc. Anyway, I looked at the Springfield when I bought mine and the reason I went with the Kinber is that the final assembly is always performed by a single person so you get a little more confidence on the fit/function. I came very close to buying the OD green Springfield compact though... For carry I absolutely love the size of the tiny 1911's. If you get thin grips on it then there is not much that is more concealable, certainly not with the amount of punch you can send down range with it. just my .02
