I'm looking to find some kind of log/record book to jot down serial, model, ID numbers, pictures of weapons and such. As well as a good way to organize receipts and Proof of purchase, other info. Also, a good way to keep track # and type of rounds fired, maintanence schedules, service performed...

    Things like that.

Is there any type of log/record book out there that is specifically setup for doing such a task?

How do you guys do this?

Excel for all the info, and then I keep the hard copies in a desk drawer (no money for a deposit box :o)

I keep my info in Excel as well, but I only have one gun at the moment. I am also keeping track of when I shoot and how many rounds, just to keep a round count.

    what I keep track of:

    Make/Model
    Serial
Parts/parts kits/etc (like what upper, LPK, etc on my AR, what kit for my AK)
sights (iron, what scope if applicable)
Round count (not on stuff like the K-31 and 91/30 though)
Type of rounds and count per type (FMJ, JHP, etc)
    Last time I used it
    Last time it was cleaned
Generic notes (like that the 91/30 doesn't like copper wash jackets)

  11. use google space

or hotmail, gmail, send an email to yourself and keep replying to it with updates.

this will last longer than any harddrive, flash drive, isp email, etc.

That's pretty badass. I may DL it and keep it till I get more guns. No sense to have all that for just one IMO :o

Is it wrong that I just drew a form in CAD with all the usual fields and a generous space for a receiver imprint that I went and got on all my firearms?

I did that but went ahead and printed it out. I keep it with my original reciept from the gun shop in my safe.
