I think you need to add a wide angle lens and hot shoe flash to stop the action.

I think that's the setup of someone that really doesn't know what they want to shoot. :dunno:

Actually, the 17-40L will constitute as a wide angle. A 12-24mm wide angle on a 1.5 sensor yields an 18-36mm field of view. The canon 5D is a FULL frame sensor so 17mm on it equals a 17mm field of view.

Sigma 10-20, Tokina 12-24, Nikon 12-24 and even the Canon 10-22 won't work on the full frame 5D because they are digital lenses.

On the contrary. The Fuji will be used strictly for portraiture with its fantastic color rendition and skin tones. If you've never shot with a Fuji, I'm afraid you're the one missing out. Even pros agree, Fuji handles portraits better than what Nikon or Canon can muster straight out of the camera.

The Nikon is for landscape and will be strictly for IR photography. No more messing around with Hoya R72. Just point and shoot.

The Canon will be for landscape also with its 13megapixel sensor yielding to clear, crisp 12x18 size prints.

I believe this setup will use the strengths of both systems vs sticking to just either Nikon or Canon alone.

Are you going to get 3 580exII's so you can catch pictures of Jets flying by?

Nikon needs to dump Sony as its CCD supplier and go with Fuji.

I think you are overanalyzing this. If you have money to burn just shoot everything with the 5d + some accessories, you can keep your ir toy too. :hsugh:
