i havent sent it yet, just messing with it to get it right

In light of the most recent mall shooting in Salt Lake City, Utah, I am curious as to the "request" under the Security section of your "about the mall" heading. It states, "Please refrain from...Carrying or displaying weapons of any kind except those carried by certified law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties." Is this a formal statement to your patrons who are legally licensed in the state of Tennessee to carry a firearm, whether it be open or concealed, they are prohibited from carrying their firearm inside the mall?

If they say yes then i need to inform them that their one sign at one door saying the above is not enough by law

I would change "In light of the most recent mall shooting in Salt Lake City, Utah, it has raised my curiosity as to ..."

to "...Utah, I am curious as to..."

And I would remove the "My question is," as it's redundant.

    Spelling isn't my gig :hs:

That sounds better. And, it should be gramatically correct.

Yeah, in Tennessee you can't just say "no firearms" or have the picture of the gun w/ the striked circle. You have to post language equal to-- or very close to the language perscribed by the State.

If it's not enough by law.. fuck it, it's not enough to bar you from carrying legally, going by what you said. So what happens when they change their signage to conform with state law and now it's illegal to carry?

Exactly. Just carry knowing that you are legal because of it. Don't let even let them know.

Why inform them??? If they don't fix the sign then you can still carry there, don't alert them to thier mistake...

:werd: Don't tell them of their mistake. It's a get out of jail free card for anyone that ever gets "caught". Also, I'm sure they wouldn't press charges, just ask you to leave and not come back.

Little do they know that certified or retired law enforcement officers, regardless of whether or not they're performing their duties can carry in their mall and there's nothing they can do about it.

well i'd rather try to avoid a hassle if possible. its not something i want to take the chance on if they really mean not to carry.

getting arrested for carrying, having to post bail, having my gun taken for evidence, hiring an attorney to show them THEY were wrong, having to get the charge expunged, etc...is not worth it to me.

I think what he is saying is the CCW = CONCEALED. If you get caught, you weren't concealing it very well.

he's saying if you keep your damn gun concealed, it won't matter until you need to use it, at which point it won't matter much anyway.
