What do you think of this ADSL Modem/WiFi Router?

    :dunno: probably OK but it doesn't say much about security (WEP, MAC registry, etc.)

    I just got a new WAP/router (netgear) for about $40 after rebate and it works great. It also has the ability to register MAC addresses (my last WAP didn't have this feature) which I think is a great way to keep people from stealing your connection.

    actually, I just found a website that shows a bit more of that router and it looks like it might have MAC addressing but I don't see anything about security.

    Either way, it has some screenshots of the software so you might get a better idea of how that thing would work for you.

    wifi is really risky unless your wap has encryption on the fly along with all the other junk,
    and since yours probably doesnt(ones that are actually hard to hack into start at about 1,200) any one can hop into your lan...

    I just bought a billion adsl modem router. I needed it for my home network. Although its not wireless

    I'll see, paying twice for the netgear wonthurt me much, i can afford it ok
