i cant think of a logical reason to buy one.

    "just because i like it"
    or
    "to be different"

are not logical reasons, those are just attempts at attention or acts of impulse.

Mid-engine layout, handles like a go-kart, OK power?

They should have given an option to choose the 180HP Celica motor :hs:

    honestly, i really like them.

EXCEPT, when i consider buying a car, i want to tune it. for the same money you can have a miata that is leaps and bounds above it. and for just a couple grand more you could have a s2000 or a corvette.

They arent particularly good looking, and not as much fun as the MK I's. With the miata at least you can turbocharge it.

the only benefits they have over the miata is better STOCK handling & they dont have the ghey stigma.

    How much are they?

But you're right, I've never seen a modded on. Maybe thats because I only see women driving them, but I dunno. I'd pimp one if I could fit in it.

Fun little car for tooling around in.

If I wanted a track car, I'd buy a Miata. Actually, I'd buy a Miata over an MR2 any day.

I prefer the MR2, plus you don't see 100 a day, there are only like 20k Spyders in the US total.

Harder to work on versus a Miata, obviously, but in the end I think the Spyder pays off bigger. You can't beat the weight, or lack of it, and the way the car just rotates around you in a tight turn is godlike. What does it have, like 300+lbs. on a Miata?
