If you're spending that much money don't get 2x512. Get a single 1GB stick so you can upgrade easily to 2gb later. Or just do 2gb now.

don't forget a new north bridge cooler as the one on that motherboard is defective- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835110103

Why not get the 3800 X2? it's actually less $$ than the 4000 and has 2 cores, how can you lose? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103562

36gb raptors are probably a waste of money. their seek time is slower than their big brothers and they are very expensive per gb. either spring for the 74gb ones or go with a couple of the new fast Hitachi or Seagate 7200rpm drives in RAID 0.

    What power supply?

Stay with the 2X512 ram. Its a dual channel motherboard, going with a single stick of ram is going to hurt performance.

If you want a 4000+ than get one with a San Diego core, not a Clawhammer. Much better OC'er.

and you definately need a good power supply. this is a good psu for the price

its a DUAL-CHANNEL board, so you want to run 2 sticks.

I suggest to go 2x1GB but that is my choice

because the $$ to performance raito is shit with 36gb raptors, it's a waste of money. for the same amount of money you can have 98% of the speed and half a tb of storage to make up for that 2% :)

I'm running RAID 0 2X74gb raptors in my main pc and they are really fast so i'm all for Raptors in general i just don't think the 36's make much sense.
