What do you think of my diet? Please help

    These last couple of days i started a diet in hopes of boosting my Basal Metabolism in order to lose excess fat and become more cut..

    Breakfast
    -Frosted Mini wheats
    -low fat yogurt

    Snack
    -Banana or orange

    Lunch
    -usually a sub or some type of turkey sandwich

    Snack
    health bar or something of that nature

    Dinner
    protein shake and the food Varies, but remains relatively light

    Also drink a TON of water and lift around 7-8 and run a couple of miles

    Do you think its a good idea that i havent been eating anything past 8 o clock or so?

    What are your total cals and macro breakdown? Doesn't look like much protein. Not eating after 8 is probably not a problem.

    i weigh around 170 and my total cals are about 1800, with around 85 or so grams of protein everyday.

    most of the protein i use is the GNC stuff, i dont want to become bigger right now when i lift, will eating more of that type of protein help me burn more fat.

    More protein will keep you from losing lean muscle mass while you're losing weight .. its tough to get big on a calorie deficit.

    Calories are probably about right.

    You should be getting more of your protein from whole foods... mainly lean meats.

    Cut down on your sugar intake, and replace those calories with protein.

    Frosted mini-wheats = sugar
    Yogurt = sugar
    banana or orange = sugar

    You should also supplement with essential fatty acids... fish and/or flax oil.

    Since you guys dont seem too impressed with the diet at all.....what do you eat when trying to increase fat loss?
