I did this last week.... I was just like "I want to get my cholesterol tested, and tested for std's, and mercury levels because i eat a lot of tuna", and amazingly the doctor handed me a slip to go to the blood lab and do it :eek5:

haha jk but why would they want a reason? sounds like your insurance provider and/or doctor sucks balls.

I'm 23 and most of my friends have had blood work done during a physical. I don't know what your problem is...its part of a checkup. just bc it involves a lab, does'nt mean it isn't part of a routine checkup.

obviously... but unless you've gotten a blood test within the last month or something, it can be totally necessary. I guess your doctor just sucks balls, mine would just make up a reason if that was an issue. And she's also a hot indian doctor. I win.

That should work with a decent doctor who actually cares about keeping you healthy.

I am a nurse and others have already listed the best way to get tested. If you want to feed him a line or whatever, just say that you feel tired all the time and don't have the drive to compete in sports like you used to/you lack motivation, etc. These symptoms are also similar to depression, so don't let him steer you down that path  There are several pro golfers lately that have had those exact symptoms which led them to getting their test checked and getting placed on HRT. You could mention that you saw that on the news and felt like you were feeling the same way.

OR YOU COULD JUST GO TO YOUR DOCTOR AND BE COMPLETELY HONEST, THEY APPRECIATE THAT!!!

Only if your doctor is a cocksucker, in which case you need to find a new one anyway.

Any "cool" doctor will appreciate the honesty and file it with the insurance company as a routine physical or something.

I think this is the best way- Say the following things:
    "Tired all the time."
    "Very little energy"
    "My libido is very poor"
"Gains in the gym are poor"

Also maybe if you drop in something about a family history of diabetes and high blood pressure you'll probably get cholesterol and glucose tests too.

Or you could be honest.. up to you really.

    .

We in the military need to have a full physical every 5 years at a minimum so I'd expect something similar of the civilian world too. HIV testing is every 2 years now too.

Or just say you slept with a durty bird and you're worried. :noes:

I just asked for it :dunno:. You could also say that you want to see how eating/lifting has affected your health.

 I keep thinking about doing exactly that. My doctor shot down my blood work 3 times this year because I couldnt give him a valid reason, and I've heard if you admit to using steroids they have to tell your insurance and it will fuck you years later if you need a surgery.

My doc has me get mine done every 2 years I go in for a physical. Hate needles so I really freaking curse him everytime he has me go.

How old are you? Any good doc should recommend it every couple of years for preventative maintenance if you are mid 20s or higher.

Wow. My DR wants me to come in every 6 months for tests. I told him i'm using ephedrine and knows my gym routine at the time and diet.

Last check-up all my cholesterol (good and bad) was low so I needed to take in more fish oil.

Any normal doctor is going to hear the words "I want to do a cycle of steroids" and run as far away from you as possible. No ethical doctor is going to risk his practice and being sued for malpractice for knowignly help you do something illegal no matter how "cool" he is.

Any normal doctor should be recommending you getting bloodwork done every couple of years to look for any possible problems.

say that you've got a family history, or you're trying out a new diet that's kinda cholesterol high, and you want it checked. I don't see why he'd say no. I got one done in October.
