its been released here in australia but i haven't had a chance to see it yet

its directed by hayao miyazaki who directed/ resposible for heaps of great films, you really need to check them out yourself. first time i saw most of these ones was as a little kid on tv and i loved the animation but didnt understand any of the story line, but rewatched them when i got older and got hooked on it

    Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro
Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind
Laputa: The Castle in the Sky
    My Neighbor Totoro
    Kiki's Delivery Service
    Porco Rosso

the more recent ones like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, i could appreciate it more.

in short go see it but also check out the other Studio Ghibli stuff. dont think Lupin III is a studio ghibli film tho.

It was decent. There is no strong character development. It's more of a fairy tale ala Alice in Wonderland.

visually it was amazing. I assume certain things were lost in the translation to english so the plot seemed super weird sometimes, lots of holes and things open to interpretation.

I saw it in theaters with the original Japanesse language track and I very much enjoyed it. I have no idea what the english version would turn out like though.
