What do you guys use to create insulin spike (besides dextrose) ?

    I've been drinking 1 cup of apple juice with my protein shake. Think that suffices? (I'm 220, 6' 4'')

    Apple juice will not create an insulin spike, especially if it is pure apple juice, in which it is fructose primarily. Milk does a good job, so would gatorade.

    :dunno: i've just got a bunch of bottles of gatorade that i got a while ago when they were on sale

    12 32oz. bottles for 10 bucks, iirc

    I keep a gallon of powdered gatorade in the fridge and Ill have a glass after the gym.

    I've been using ~35g NOW maltodextrin with a teasoon of dextrose

    why not just use dextrose? throw a tablespoon in your post workout shake.

    I would get maltodextrin - it's cheap and not as sweet as dextrose/glucose

    powdered gatorade. works the best for me because all the ingredients are dry and i cam premix it at home then add water at the gym

    I read an article once that the closest thing to the perfect after workout drink is chocolate milk. More Ovaltine please!
