I'm a typical ectomorph... very lean, im about 6'1 145 lbs.. Ive been the same weigh since high school (about 4 years ago).. I have been working out on and off and seen minimal results, but I'm starting to research it and piece together a serious workout.. I'm trying to design my diet, and I know that I need at least 3000 calories a day.. Ive been eating that much for about a week, but it's tough, both financially and just getting that much food down.. I looked up weight gainer powder, and the GNC brand says it has about 1600 calories in a serving and 74g of protein.. sounds like something I could really use..

what are you guys' thoughts on this, what brands are good, and where would be a decent place to buy from? I dont know how much they want for the GNC stuff at the local store, but i would imagine that its overpriced.. I looked it up on pricegrabber and "drugstore.com" has some for $15.. (i think for 8 lbs)

I think food of any type is a better solution
that stuff is just added sugar and fats and such, why not just go buy some fast food, or possibly make something high in callories.
Eat desert and milk with dinner
Finding things ghigh in callories is not hard i could name 20 right now

well I wait to bulk somewhat cleanly.. i mean im not eating only lean chicken and fish, etc, but i dont want my diet to be fast food 5 times a day.. i figured if i could have 1 serving of that a day, then like 1500-2000 calories of real, good food it would work well.. then i wouldnt have to eat so much junk... i work long shifts, so all i can really eat at work is frozen dinners or pre-made stuff.. it just sucks shoveling in that much food everyday.. and i think i may have to consumer more calories than i already am..

My brother bought a tub of weight gainer a while back, that stuff is a crock. The serving size was ridiculous (think 10 scoops of whey) and the calorie content was basically all sugar. Do yourself a favor and get some fast food instead, it probably has better nutritional value and doesn't taste like shit.

Olive oil, natty pb, oatmeal, milk, whey......tastes good when blended, easy way to get some serious calories down and better for you than weight gainer

that crap is no different than drinking milk and eating oreos, or having some sort of fast food.
You want tyo eat "clean" don't eat that crap, make food in advance, when i did not eat out at work, i would bring in all sorts of stuff, steaks sausage, lasagna, cake, cookies, hamburgers... there is a big list of stuff you can bring to work

i like having a tub of oats around with a scoop so that i can make bowls of oatmeal every couple of hours.

if you want frozen dinners, lean cuisine's are probably the healthiest. they're not terribly expensive, and they taste much better than they did a few years ago

$30 for 16 servings... 3 servings per day suggested.. that's 1 container every 2 days (if you skimp on the second day..) $450 a month if you use their suggestions.. :hsugh:

I guess I'll just have to learn how to down 15 chicken breasts a day.. :hs:
