what do you guys think of this training?

    Current Weight 172 pounds
    Height 5'9
    Goal weight 185pounds

    I've been working out for a year and half with not a whole of knowledge and pretty much the same routine. The reason for gaining weight is because i'm applying for police and would like to be a little bigger. I've been doing a 5 by 5 routine and am having touble gaining weight. I 've also been eating a lot but still the gains are slow. Anyhow i found this routine from a bodybuilding site. The routine is all about a 1 set of 8 to 10 reps. You should go to absoloute failure hitting only 8 to 10 reps and not be able to do one more. Its a 3 day full body workout therefore your working a body part 3 times a day. The routine is said to help one gain mass which is something i'm looking for. What do you guys think? Heres the routine:
    Monday on, tuesday off, wednesday on, thursday off friday on, weekend off


    Squats 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Leg Extensions 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Leg Curls 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Dumbbell Pullovers 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Barbell Overhead Shoulder Press 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Seated Rows 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Bench Press 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Barbell Bicep Curls 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Tricep Extensions 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Weighted Pullups 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Weighted Dips 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Standing Calf Raises 1 X 8 - 12 reps
    Abs - 1 X 10 - 15 reps

    at least split it up into upper/lower

    really, i should split it up? wouldn't that defeat the pupose of the routine. i dunno you guys know way more then me, do you think this would be a good routine for gaining some mass

    That sounds pretty retarded. You should really be splitting up your routine. Doing a full body routine isn't going to do much for you other than make you really sore the next day (especially if you actually work to failure.) If you're looking to put on some mass look at christopher's routine.
