priced at around $290. anyone have one?
i favor the safety switch design and more robust trigger (i think, anyway) of the Remington 870, but the Mossberg 500 is the other shotgun to beat. Yes, i have the same one pictured, but with a full stock. It's a trooper, beat to hell and the only thing i've managed to do is break off half the safety button.
If you're using a pistol grip with no shoulder stock like that, you'll really find shooting easier if you have a good sling, as you can brace the gun against the tension on the sling to support it.
Incidentally, For $265, a friend of mine is selling a nearly new 590 (less than 100rd fired), which is basically the same gun with a less shiny, more durable parkerized finish instead of blued like that gun above. It also has ghost ring sights.
And it has the full stock instead of pistol grip. You can buy the pistol grip for ~$15
Looks just like this but with an 18" barrel and 6 round capacity instead.
It is a great gun, I have the Mariner version with the silver looking finish. I like the position of the saftey on that gun much better than the one on my 870. You can access it with your thumb rather than having to move your hand awkwardly to move it on the 870. I prefer the trigger on it over the trigger on my 870 as well. Due to the angle of the factory pistol grip it is painful to shoot , unless you hold it out in front of you. You can also find that same gun for less money, I have seen them at gunshows for around $210. Good luck.
My 590 is great
Added a folding stock to it, nice for CQB
Will he take $250 by paypal tonight?
thanks for the info guys.
i am so tempted right now....
i'm trying to stay away from any big purchases until after the holidays.
