Ive been doing some research on getting a new laptop and dell seems to be the cheapest for best specs. I was talking to a guy at work today briefly and he seemed to really look down on dell notebooks but i couldnt talk to him for too long. I was wondering if OT had any feedback or could suggest a cheaper site.

I've got about a dozen inspiron laptops rolled out at work, no problems with them other than the batteries don't last much past the 1 year warranty period, but I've found that's the case with most other laptops.

I've never had any issues with Dell laptops. My 3 roommates & I each have one. Mine is 4 years old & the battery is pretty much shot, but other than that nothing major & the other 3 have not had any issues at all. The only person that I know that has had issues with inspirons is my cousin but that is only because of user abuse. he get pissed anytime it starts to go slow & punches the screen.

Inspirons are good laptops. The desktops aren't that great. They are not very upgradeable, but are dependable if you treat them right. Had my laptop for 5 years, but the mobo blew when I tried to upgrade the processor. Good buy, depending on the model and how much you pay

    1. Vostro is an excuse to sell the same computer to you without crapware for $500 more.

    2. The Precision laptops come with nVidia Quadro video cards.
