$140 shipped. I cant wait, I was saving up for an A80 digital but I like to take action shots (skateboarding) so a slr would be more useful. same as what i used in high school except its the brown body SE.

i also decided to take a photo class this semester so i can have access to a lab.

Not my favorite brand, but nice. I rarely see cameras with fake woodgrain.

yeah auction ended at $130. the only difference between this and the regular k1000 is the split image focusing. and well I guess this one is a little cooler since its a limited edition. i prolly could have gotten a regular k1000 for 90-100, but i had to take a bite at this one because in HS my bitch photo teacher never let me borrow the brown body. :o

it seems to be in better condition than most of the brown bodies I see on ebay

My camera all through school was a Pentax Super Program which is basically a K1000 with some auto features. Solid camera platform. It's hard to kill a K1000.

The K1000 has a cult following and the fetch good money on eBay. I was looking at buying one and in the course of my research noticed that Pentax made a few cameras that were K1000s but with added features (such as the KM). They are harder to find, but since they don't have that mystique about them they go for a lot less on eBay.

    More features for less money.

generations of photographers learned on the K1000. It's a solid, FULLY manual camera, and if you took any photography classes years ago, you pretty much were required to buy one.

The man speaks the truth. I learned on a well worn K1000 many years ago. My photography school had a handful of them, along with a few medium format twin lens reflex (forget the brand) cameras and a couple of Speed Graphic 4x5 cameras.
