flak jacket is the old protection. all standard troops use interceptor body armor for protection currently. heres a pic of mine. the vest itself will stop up to 9mm and the ceramic inserts in the front and rear can stop multiple 7.62mms

here is the new standard issue helmet for regular troops now too, the ACH advanced combat helmet, once again here is a pic of mine

How heavy is it? Does your head feel like you've got a brick on it?

can that vest seriously stop multiple 7.62 mm rounds? So if a serviceman or woman takes a few from an AK, he or she will still live? Are they still combat-capable after getting hit?

yes it can, seen one that had taken 3 along with one from a shotgun very close range. u want to replace it ASAP after 1 hit though as it is no longer as effective in stopping rounsd. yeah they will be fairly combat capable. usually it leaves u with bruising or knock wind out of you. in some cases the individual will not be effecitve though afterwords

I would still put as many sandbags as possible in the floorboards and anywhere else they will fit.

damn soldiers need a raise man, i feel sort of bad for making more money than most of the guys that are in military and i don't have to do anything like you guys do for us,,,,,,i wish they'd let us vote on a pay raise for military personel because yall deserve every dime, i'd be naked with the exception of a gun and a belt with my ammo clips hanging from it or something lol, those clothes,,,,i think i'd melt bro, wow

so, if a US soldier gets shot centermass, he is still alive and quite possibly still in the fight as well?

That is the theory. In real life, if I catch a 7.62 to a flak jacket, it's going to take me a minute or two before I decide what is really going on.
