I ripped a few chunks of flesh off my hand tonight doing heavy ass rack pulls and had to stop my workout short due to some stupid bitch complaining that I was getting blood and chalk over the bars, what do you guys do when you rips massive chunks of skin off your hands? Do you just stop doing heavy deadlifts/rackpulls, is there any kind of treatment that makes skin grow back quicker? :dunno:

If it happens during my workout I just put some paper towels around my hands and lift with those.

one time on my 99th set of heavy pulls, a huge chunk of my hand ripped off and stuck to the bar, there was blood everywhere, but i was pumped, so i finished out the rest of the set.

after i was finished i ate the peice of skin on the bar, animalz never waste perfectly good protein. some bitch saw me eat the skin and fainted, so i barked a few times, peed on her, then left.

I've done that before. I usually just wait until the shit grows back before pulling again.

I havn't ripped any skin off in a while though.

thats some natsy shit. you must be hardcore for not wearing gloves and getting all that! :hsugh:

give it a few days so the outer skin will grow back. try lotion 2-3 times a day to keep it smooth and moist.

Got one of those 2 weeks. It just heals in a week or so. Put neosporin on it though, because the skin will crack and it'll hurt like a bitch.

And this is why I wear gloves. There is nothing attractive or "manly" about that. Imagine all the staph bacteria that is on the bars you are using when you rip your hands open like that (In case you have no clue...there is tons). Locker rooms and gyms are becoming a THRIVING place for MRSA (methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus). If you want a nice antibiotic resistant infection, please keep lifting like that.

Whatever. I'm a nurse and I've seen way too many infections to let myself get one because I was too proud to wear gloves.

Fuck off he does not want your advice
@ all the wear gloves pussie

I would say neosporen, and some peroxide keep it clean, that shit usually heals up pretty fast. Try pulling again next week if it is healed if not just let it heal. maybee use some straps for the time being to take some of the ripping force off of your hand.

Try some of that newskin stuff if you wanna get back to pulling quicky.

I've had a few like that but never in the middle of the hand. Nice battle wounds

Yeah, I was joking. There is nothing wrong with using straps or gloves if it prevents injury. Not everyone here wants to be able to cut glass with the palms of their calloused hands.

wearing a pair of gloves would hinder them a lot less than not being able to do them at all

I thought the OT-style personal attacks were supposed to be stopping? I offered sound medical advice about a very real threat to his health. I use gloves AND straps when lifting heavy weights because i'm training muscles, not callouses.
