I work out in my basement and dont have large solids. We've figured out how to get up to 115 with 25lb plates but then you just run out of room on the bar. Do they make extended dumbbell bars?

Olympic size 45 plates on a 16" dumbbell bar? Maybe you should learn how people lift weights asswipe. I've never seen an olympic sized dumbbell bar, let alone a fucking 45lb plate hanging off of one :ugh2:

get one of the cheap hollow 5' bars from a yardsale or craigslist plastic+cement dumbell set and cut it up into lengths you can use.

i thought about having extensions welded on but I was unsure of how strong it would be. And no they dont sell longer dumbbells at walmart. standard size is somewhere around 15" i believe and i've yet to find a longer one anywhere. i've googled for it and haven't been able to find anything.

i suppose i could just buy some long pipe and have collars welded on so the weights dont slide into my hand.

you dont need anything welded, man. buy extra collars that go onto the end to keep the weights on.

put two on backwards outside where your hands go, tighten them down. done. put weights on, put outside collars on.

i used to do that when we'd lose the little plastic pieces that kept the weights from sliding into our hands.

thanks for the help, i guess i'll do that. In the meantime, if anyone has any leads as to some already manufactured dumbbells that are longer than the standard size I'd be interested. Thanks.
