What would be better, a 19" LCD with poor specs (Liquid video or such), a 40-50ms response time, 350:1 contrast etc or a 17" with good specs (Samsung or similar) 16ms, 450:1 contrast etc for the same price? What do people think of the IBM T860 monitor (18")? What about the liquid video 19"?

You do not want a lcd with a 50ms response time.
Yes a 17" Samsung etc. 16ms or lower is what you would go for.

i think a 50ms response would give you a headache just dragging a window on the desktop

See? Thats why I asked. Anyone familiar with the IBM T860, is it in fact 40ms response time? Its hard to find info on that monitor.
